Final Commercial Blog

 1. Our product more uses conventions rather than challenges them. The commercial is not as unique or creative as some out there. Yet , it does somewhat challenge the conventions because of what is being done in the commercial. Not many commercials involve a kicker. It represents the social group of the fans of the sport football.  2. Our product interacts with the audience in many ways. First of all our product interests people who are fans of the sport football as the commercial is based around football. The actor also directly speaks with the audience. There is also a graphic which speaks to the audience. It would be distributed to channels who display sports media and content. 3. My production skills developed when we filmed the commercial. I had already used our editing software many times so I was already familiar with that. But I grew more skillful with filming angles and camera work. I learned what shots are more aesthetic than others. I also learned how to use the zoom feature

Another Editing Day

Todays period was cut short due to PSAT testing. The PSAT took a little more time then expected and cut 50 minutes from our period. We didnt finish the test until 1 P.M. and we didnt get to go to Media Studies until 2 P.M. Even though we had a shortened amount of time we were still able to get some work done. We didnt start until around 20 minutes into the class because we were exhausted from the PSAT. Even though we were tired we were still able to add some effects and a ending slide. We added effects such as slow mo, filters, and a gatorade logo appering infront of the shot. We added slow mo to the scene of our actor running towards the ball. We added filters to some scenes to make it more intense. Also, we added the gatorade logo to make it seem more proffesional. We added the gatorade logo to the scene where our actor was drinking out of the bottle, this was also the last scene. We must go over the commercial again to make sure everything is good. The reason why is we might not ha

Editing Day

Today me and my teammates finally mashed all the scenes together. We took all the scenes and downloaded them into our editing software. Once we dowloaded them we began editing our scenes. We did things such as trimming the clips, and adding transitions. We had to trim the clips so there was no film that wasnt meant to be in the commercial and to make the commercial make more sense. After we trimmed the scenes to where we wanted it we began adding transitions. We added transistions such as fade to make the commercial run more smoothly. We also added them to make it feel like one clip. We trimmed some parts out such as the camera man taking too long to stop the clip, or some extra background noise. We added transitions to clips where it was different angles of one shot. Our team used the software named iMovie to edit our clips. iMovie is a free app you can install on any apple device. It is very user friendly and easy to use. It had everyhting we needed to edit our commercial. Next clas

Another Day of Filming

Image
Today was another fun day of filming. Today we shot all the scenes that included the football as the first one shot the scenes that didn't. This was our last day of filming our commercial. We had our actor wear the same clothing he wore on our first shooting day. We also brought an extra prop which was a holder to hold the football. We needed this so the football would stay in place as the actor kicked it. In the first filming day one of the members brought a plain shirt for the actor to wear so he did the same today. Before we started filming, we had the actor who was going to kick the field goals do a few practice kicks. After that, we began filming. Thankfully, the weather and the sky looked the same as the first day so its hard to tell the two days apart. We filmed a scene with the actor backing up from the camera. Then, we filmed two scenes where the actor ran up to the ball to kick it. Then we filmed a scene where the actor actually kicked it. Then we filmed a scene where the
