Intro Blog A Level

 Hello , My name is Luke Hamill and I am a sixteen year old boy. I was born on October 30th 2005. I  play sports such as football and basketball and my favorite subject in school is History. I play tight end and defensive end on the varsity football team at my school. I love film and music, especially 90s-early 2000s alternative music. I love and I'm excited to take AICE Media Studies again as I love film and I am very excited to plan out and shoot my own short film.

      My favorite movies are "The Usual Suspects" and "Spider-Man 2". Spider-Man has been my favorite since a kid, I just really like the character. I even have a Spider-Man poster in my room. "The Batman" is also a really good movie that came out recently that I enjoy. My favorite show is definitely "Breaking Bad" even though it took me over a year to get through the whole thing. 

     As I mentioned before, I really like music. My favorite band is probably Weezer and my favorite song by them is definitely "Say It Ain't So". I also really like Childish Gambino who's just a solo artist and not a band. Fun fact he is actually in a Spider-Man movie. My favorite song of all time is "Everlong" by Foo Fighters, it doesn't get old.

      I live with my Mom named Jodi, my Dad named Peter, my Brother named Ryan, my Cat named Maggy, and my Dog named Pancho. I wish I had a bearded dragon but my mom won't let me get one. I've wanted one since I was 9 and I think one would be a good addition to the family. On the weekends I pretty much just hang out with my friends. Ill put a picture of us at the bottom. These are some of my interests and I am very excited to create my own short film in this course.

  Research: How to make a short film        The words short film are a teaser. Although the name may sound like it's an easy quick process, short films take a lot of time, effort, and energy. I learned from this video that planning is one of, if not the, most crucial of all steps in the short film making process. One of the most key takeaways in planning I got from this video is that it is crucial to write for the kind of movie you are trying to make. Now this sounded obvious until I thought about it deeper. When writing our script and planning for the creation of our movie it is key that we do not bite off more than we can chew, meaning do not try to incorporate things into our film that we know will not be possible for us to create. Production Blog: Editing Again

 Yesterday, I didn’t complete editing my entire short film. So today, I resumed editing. I got on my computer and started up my editing software. The editing software I use is on CapCut. I went over all the editing I did yesterday. This way I could see where I left off and what needed to be done. I made a mental list of what needed to be done at the end of the day. Today was pretty much the last day of editing so I had to make sure everything was done. After all of that I began editing. I pretty much just did what I did yesterday but on different clips. I started with adjusting the clips to the correct length. This made sure there was no background noise or talking. This also made sure there was no awkward silences. I then added music. This really brought the short film together. After that, I added some text to the clips. I watched it all together to make sure it was correct. After that, I put on some finishing touches.
